Dear Project Supporters,
Thanks to your generous support, scholarships were given to young ladies at Primary and secondary schools in Freetown. The girls that received scholarships were from Nursery school age through 12th grade.
Ms. Joanne helped oversee the distribution of the scholarships to the children and parents. She said in her opening remarks that the scholarship beneficiaries needed to work hard in school. She continued that as young people they are filled with talents, dreams and aspiration and the only hope they have in achieving those dreams is to obtain an education.
The girls were all very appreciative of the scholarships and promised to work hard in their studies.
Your donations have helped make another year of school a reality for these young ladies. The support provided covers their school related expenses to include: uniforms, tuition, school books, school supplies etc.
It is an ongoing challenge for girls in Sierra Leone to stay in school due to the costs of uniforms, school supplies, books and school-related charges. Many families are unable to cover these costs. Families with limited funds often focus first on sending their boys to school leaving hundreds of girls without an education.
We welcome your assistance in providing full support for several other scholarships for young girls that you can see when you click or tap on the following link for Develop Africa.
We have the ability to change the lives of girls. This changes their destinies and creates a better nation and world for all!
With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team
