Summary

Some kids in Ghana learn in rickety, tumbledown classrooms. They are exposed to the elements and get wet when it is rainy and windy. Imagine learning or teaching in this environment. This project will help to change this by providing 2 comfortable and safe brick classrooms. Over 40 kids each year will use these new classrooms.

Challenge

It has been proven that the classroom learning environment is crucial in ensuring and optimizing learning outcomes. A less than optimal environment results in a less than optimal learning and progress. Due to inadequate funding many classrooms are woefully inadequate and far from being conducive for learning. When you look at these classrooms, its easy to see why the kids are distracted and their retention is dismal.

Solution

Together, through this project, we can help to provide 2 safe, brick classrooms where the learning of our kids will be optimized. Your support will help to purchase the needed construction materials - bricks, cement, roofing etc ... and cover the labor costs. Funds will additionally cover the costs of classroom furniture etc.

Long-Term Impact

Students will be eager to go to school and learn in these new classrooms. Well educated kids will have access to greater opportunities and be better positioned to contribute to the community and national development.
