Project Overview:
The goal of this project was to provide transportation to young children and rural girls, ensuring their access to education by overcoming the challenge of transportation. Unfortunately, we were unable to meet our target fundraising goal of $10,000. However, we are grateful for the $738 that were donated towards the project. Additionally, we contributed $530 from our own funds to support the cause.
Project Achievements:
Despite falling short of our fundraising target, we were able to make a positive impact in the lives of the children and their families. Through the funds raised and our own contributions, we distributed 20 bicycles to children living far from the school, facilitating their daily commute to school. This provision of bicycles has opened doors of hope for these children and their families, as it has significantly reduced the transportation barrier they previously faced.
In addition to the bicycles, we also provided a wheelchair to a handicapped child named Mubasshir, enabling them to attend school. This act of support not only empowers Mubasshir but also promotes inclusivity and equal access to education.
Overall, as a result of this project, 46 children have either restored their attendance or newly enrolled in school through the provision of the 20 bicycles. Furthermore, Mubasshir, the handicapped child, has been able to join the school community with the assistance of the wheelchair.
Ongoing Challenges:
Despite our efforts, the demand for bicycles remains high, and many children, especially rural girls, still face significant transportation challenges. While we have made a difference in the lives of the children who received bicycles and Mubasshir, there is a pressing need to extend this support to more individuals who are struggling to access education due to transportation limitations.
Future Considerations:
To address the persisting transportation issue, we are seeking additional support to acquire a Suzuki Bolan, which would enable female students to commute to school and college safely and comfortably. This larger vehicle would accommodate a greater number of students and help alleviate the transportation difficulties faced by the girls in our target area.
Conclusion:
Although this specific project has expired, we remain committed to the cause of providing quality education and transportation support to children, especially girls, in Mardan, Pakistan. We invite generous donors to continue supporting our mission by contributing to our new project, "Gift Quality Education to Girls in Mardan, Pakistan."
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors who supported this project. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of these children and their families, allowing them to access education and aspire for a better future.
