Help Purchase 300 Chicks for Dream Home Poultry

A microproject by Develop Africa, Inc.

This project will purchase 300 day-old chicks to launch the poultry house to benefit the Dream Home. This will provide a 3-fold benefit as follows: reliable, sustainable, on-going income towards the running costs of the orphanage, fresh eggs daily - a steady supply of high-quality protein for the orphans and an educational / learning opportunity for the orphans - where they can learn responsibility and management.

So far, we have been able to lease the property and renovate the poultry room. Items still needed to start this venture include: 300 day-old chicks, drinkers and feeders, chicken feed and wood shavings for the floor. Your support will also help cover the costs of vaccinations / medications (to help keep the chicks healthy), water supply and other running costs.

6 months after project launch, the layers will provide daily eggs for the dream home and eggs that will be sold to cover on-going expenses of the Dream Home. This will provide a steady source of protein for the kids and also sustainable income to cover some of the expenses of the home.

Long-Term Impact

This project offers tremendous benefits in terms of being able to help deserving children grow and mature into model adults that will impact their communities and nation - and even the world.
