Joining our month-long marine field techniques course mid-year 2019 we have Temoteo!
Temoteo has completed his undergraduate degree in the department of Biological Sciences at Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, Mozambique. Temoteo wants to develop his career in Marine Biology and will now further his skills by spending a month on an international university field course run by All Out Africa (AOA) and Louisiana State University (LSU).
Temoteo will be out on the water discovering how to scuba dive, collecting data on marine giants as well as their food sources and general reef and environmental health.
He will be learning how to sample the plankton and looking at the minute organisms that make up the base of the food chain here. As well as focusing on learning how to manage sustainable tourism and mitigate the risks to the Mozambican coastal areas.
We hope this will be a fantastic time for him, a great learning experience, and the first step in a long and productive career in marine biology and conservation in his home country of Mozambique.
We look forward to adding photos of his course progress and completion!
Please consider sponsoring future mozambican students for places on these courses. Every little helps a student towards a new career in research and conservation of this at-risk coastline.
