Momoh is a construction worker and has done a variety of odd jobs to help take care of his family - wife and 4 kids. He has been out of steady work now for over 6 months and is struggling to take care of his family. He currently depends on the goodwill of friends. He would like to go into business - run a taxi cab. Funds from this project will give him a new opportunity to take care of his family and become self-sufficient.
Momoh does not have any credit history or collateral. As a result, he is not able to obtain a loan from traditional banks. This project will solve the problem of joblessness and the lack of business capital. It will provide funds for a microfinance loan for Momoh.
Project funds will be used to purchase, register and insure a taxi cab. This microfinance, interest-free loan will provide hope, opportunity, and transformation to Momoh. With the proceeds from the taxi, Momoh will be able to take care of his family.
Momoh and his family will be able to have a decent lifestyle. With good stewardship, the business could grow to include other taxis - setting him and his family permanently free from poverty.
