Help LGBT Voice Tanzania pay office rent

In the past few months since when we paid rent for six months from 1^st May to 30^th October 2015, LGBT Voice implemented a number of activities including awareness about the effects of the newly proposed anti LGBT law reaching 98 and documenting 9 incidences of human rights violation of human rights based on gender identity and sex orientation in three regions of Tanzania Mainland. We have been also able to pay: water, electricity, telephone and internet bills hence keeping the office running effectively and working to advance equality, diversity, education, and justice for LGBT people in Tanzania.

We need to raise $3600, to pay office rent for the period of 6 months from 1^st November 2015- April 30, 2016, so that we can be able to continue with our project intended to prevent the passing of a new bill to suppress the rights of LGBTI people by ensuring that awareness is spread through the civil society, policy making and donor community about the negative implications of such a move, and generate more broad-based support for the LGBTI community in Tanzania from all sections of society through careful, incremental public education initiatives.

 A comment from Maua: As a trans-man my life changed since I joined LGBT Voice Tanzania, I have learned to understand myself and also helped other to come out. It was a great privilege to have LGBT Voice during a difficult period when I and my partner were arrested due to homophobic reasons and now they are helping me with the case.

The existence of LGBT Voice Tanzania is very important for the well-being of LGBT people in Tanzania.
