Disabled people are more than twice as likely to be unemployed as non-disabled people. There are so many talented people who bring valuable skills and want to work, but are not given opportunity in the workplace because of a misguided view on disability. We will be providing supported work positions for people with disabilities, with the aim of giving them the experience to achieve a full time role in the hospitality and catering sector, ultimately giving them financial independence
By providing these trainees with support from the BPK team in a community setting we can easy them into work giving them social confidence, motivation and the skills needed for a full time role.
We will use these donations towards funding 5 supported trainee positions for people with disabilities. They'll receive an award winning program of training, regular checkin's with a supervisor whilst also allowing them the freedom to thrive in a hospitality environment.
Working with other organizations we have been able to secure long-term full time roles for trainees who complete the work placement. This means that theses trainees future can be bright
