Father's House orphanage is home to 28 orphans and blind children in Muyuka, Cameroon. This project will help them rent and grow a palm farm. If enough funds are raised, this is expected to cover monthly expenditures of the orphanage. We have good proof for this, as the farm has already started producing palm nut and transforming palm oil, a source of revenue that currently covers about 50% of the monthly expenditures of the house. The project will increase production by expanding the farm.
Throughout the years, different partners have supported the orphanage monthly expenditures, but the house has never been in control of these partnerships. For reasons beyond their control, a critical partner decided to stop supporting the orphanage last July 2017, and the house was having so many financial problems that they had to relocate to a half-finished building.
Mom Commy, the founder of the orphanage, is a resourceful woman that has done many different businesses in the past. She has a team of young adults raised in the orphanage who are also very involved in farming activities. The farm is already working, it's just not producing enough to cover all expenditures, this project will double the size and the farm. You can make sure the children never lack food, lights and education again.
In the past, partners have abused the trust of the orphanage. They used pictures and information to raise money without accountability or proper cooperation. With your support, they will become financially stable. Then they will be able to stand up and only agree to deals that are beneficial to the children and respectful of their human rights. With time and savings, they will even cover costs such as University fees. (one of their children is a University Student, more are about to be).
