Children with disabilities are like butterflies with a broken wing.
They are just as beautiful as all others,
but they need help to spread their wings.
Hello to all our wonderful donors. We hope you all had a brilliant Christmas with your families and loved ones.
We want to thank you all for helping us in making Christmas special for other people also as we wouldn’t have been able to do it so smoothly without your help.
We remember when we started fundraising for this mini project of ours, we just had one thing in mind that we wanted to do something for kids on Christmas, something very special for those who won’t be celebrating this Christmas with their families or who never get to celebrate it and who deserves it the most.
We were planning to have it with orphans to make their day amazing and asked all of you for help and you all showed your generosity and helped us in making this day special.
One thing that we weren’t planning but God helped us in doing was celebrating Christmas with some kids with disabilities, some kids who are more special and who were able to enjoy it more.
This time we went to an orphanage called Dar ul Sukun which is a home for people with disability. It doesn’t have orphans only in fact it has some kids and people who have families but due to their disability they are not living with them or their families are not able to look after them and that’s why they are living here. At first we were bit confused because our vision for this programme was to make Christmas special for kids so they could also give back to the community whenever they could and we thought that whether we will be able to deliver this message to these special kids but we realized that the most important is the message of love and care and anyone and everyone in this world could understand the language of love, no matter if they have any mental illness and disability and that’s why we were able to do all this on Christmas.
We distributed chocolates, teddy bears and hot cross buns among 250 kids almost and felt so happy and satisfied. We envision a society where all people with disability get preferential status in access to due health care, education, food, shelter and employment opportunity to live integrated and dignified life.
Thank you all again for your generosity and all your help and for helping us in spreading the message that giving is not just about making a donation, its about making a difference.
