Teddy bears provide comfort and improve self-esteem in children especially those with special needs and as Christmas is the festival of happiness and celebration, we want to make it special for all kids by - with your help - gifting teddy bears, one per orphan. To hug. To cuddle with. To love.
Christians are sometimes quite isolated in Pakistan as a minority, but always prioritize celebrating the important and much looked forward to holiday of Christmas. The city of Karachi becomes a festival with Christmas cakes, stockings, treats - our national treasure of hot cross buns - and sometimes even a float. However, orphans crave love most this time of year and we want to ensure to include them in the celebrations.
This Christmas, we will distribute 100 Teddy Bears to orphans because they are providing something to cuddle with for children who do not have access to such toys nor often anything or anyone to love.
We have selected a teddy bear because it is a soft, cuddly toy that can last decades as a reminder of the community being fostered. It is packed to prevent spread of germs and to ensure each bear is factory new. We've chosen extra soft cushioning and premium design so the bear will stay in top condition longer as orphans don't often get such precious gifts. Studies have found that hugging and cuddling release oxytoxin which is a chemical that provides happiness and a sense of security.
