In rural villages of Rajasthan, economic opportunities for marginalized individuals, especially orphan girls, are limited. Lack of skills and resources often leave them vulnerable and dependent on others for their livelihood. Access to self-employment opportunities is crucial for their empowerment and economic independence. Without adequate support and resources, these individuals struggle to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-reliance.
To address the economic challenges faced by orphan girls in rural villages, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organized the Sewing Machine Distribution Program. The program aimed to provide self-employment opportunities by distributing sewing machines to deserving orphan girls in rural villages. By providing sewing machines, RSKS India sought to equip these orphan girls with the necessary tools to start their own sewing businesses. The machines would enable them to learn and practice the skill of sewing, allowing them to produce clothing, garments, and other fabric-based products. This skill would not only provide them with self-employment opportunities but also foster their economic independence and empower them to become self-reliant. The Sewing Machine Distribution Program was complemented by training session and guidance provided by RSKS team members. The girls received instruction on sewing techniques, garment making, business management, and marketing.
