Wow! We reached our funding goal for this microproject! We can't thank you enough for your support.
Thanks to you, Madonna, Tiki, Athos, Porthos, Eramus, Kolo, Katiya, and Gasper will have a great year filled with special treats, new games, and exciting new obstacles in their enclosure!
Sadly, meerkats are not native to our area of South Africa and cannot be released here. They were brought here through the illegal pet trade from Namibia and their owners gave them to DAKTARI when they didn't want them anymore. Thankfully, they've found a forever home in a place with lots of love, cuddles, and new things to explore.
Thank you again for helping fund their care this year. If you ever want to meet our superstar animal ambassadors, you can volunteer with us or just come for a visit. We hope to see you soon!
