Dear Musical Friend,
Thank you for having taken part in this brief microproject campaign. We launched the project in an effort to be able to stock a supply of ukuleles for students in need of a helping hand getting an instrument. Thanks to your contribution and those of other like-minded souls, we have been able to respond to teacher requests for on behalf of young students with a passion for playing.
Because of everyone's gifts, we have been able to purchase 28 Diamond Head ukuleles of many different colors, tune them up, and get them ready for students. Now we can fulfill the goal of this campaign! So far only three teachers have made use of the ukulele scholarship program so this year, we look forward to awarding 25 sweet little ukuleles to kids in need.
The photograph here is of a wall full of ukuleles in one of our many GITC classrooms. These are Diamond Head sopranos. This school where they are played every day serves students in an economically challenged neighborhood in a diverse community where the hardworking people and recent immigrants are able to send their kids to school to receive a first rate public education. We expect that the 8 teachers in the school who have trained with GITC will be finding homes for some of the scholarship ukes you helped us purchase.
Thank you very much for your generosity and care for children! We look forward to creating more opportunities for you to be able to improve children's ability to learn enthusiastically and to make music at school.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Jess
