All that is happening to the girl child is heartbreaking and through GIRL CHILD PROTECTION THROUGH SKILLS TRAINING DURING COVID-19 Another Hope Children's Ministries is seeking to put a stop on the raising numbers of the adolescent girls at risk of early marriages and teenage pregnancies by skilling 40 teenage girls in the communities AHCM operates.
According to the daily monitor (Monday 27th/July/2020) 2300 school girls have conceived during the lockdown. Incidences of early-childhood marriages are on a rise as well due to increasing poverty levels since many people's sources of income were affected by the lockdown. In addition to early marriages and teenage pregnancies, many young girls have been forced to join the workforce in order to support their families. All this has is abuse to the girl child
Through the skills training of the 40 teenage girls in different skills of their choices such as Hair dressing and Cosmetology, Cookery, Bakery and Pastry, Tailoring and Fashion designing and Carpentry and Joinery, these girls will have something keeping the busy and they will not have time to engage or be put in child abuse situations such as early sex and child marriages
