12 year-old Fraterne has a rare autoimmune disease where his skin reacts to the sun resulting in terrible burns. He isn't able to find friends among his peers, his single-mother is not able to support him financially and is scared of his disease, therefore avoids physical contact. Because he was bullied in school by teachers and other children he dropped out at the age of 11. This project will pay for visits at the doctor as well as much needed medication to improve his current state.
Fraterne's biggest problem isn't the skin problem itself, but the consequences it comes with. He's not able to find friend because he is being discriminated. He was bullied by teachers and classmates. His mother is not really interested in helping and is scared of him. He spends most of his time at Dufatanye's office and misses out on children-typical activities.
This project will pay for Fraterne's doctor visits and will enable him to see a specialist to inspect his skin. Additionally it will finance medication. We hope that treatment of the disease is successful.
Healing his disease will enable him access to the community. He will be able to find friends and get closer to his family. He won't be bullied in school and therefore continue his education. We want to give him a normal life.
