This project will help thousands of people affected by the worst flood in Bangladesh with food relief, clean water, hygiene products, medical support, and financial assistance. This project will also enable volunteers and JAAGO to help with evacuation and relief centres and outreach services, and support victims and communities to recover and build their lives after the flood.
Despite rain being a blessing, climate change has impacted thousands, resulting in the most devastating flood in Sunamganj and Sylhet's history. More than 72% of Sylhet is now underwater, and the people are under utmost suffering. Bangladesh Army, Airforce and Navy were sent to evacuate households cut off from neighbouring communities. Thousands are now flood-affected and are suffering from hunger until support and relief can be provided.
All the funds collected for tackling the flood situation will be channelled towards the recovery of flood victims. With your support and dedication of our 50000 pool of volunteers across the country, we will drive to respond to the urge to save lives. We will provide food relief packs, salines, medicine, and candles along with necessary items to survive this flood.
An immeasurable amount of damage can be caused by floods, and they can have an indelible effect on the mental, socioeconomic, political and cultural conditions of the affected areas. During this time of extreme suffering, people need our help the most. We can lend them our hands in this time of extreme suffering by providing aid which includes mental health counselling, shelter rehabilitation and assurance of sustainable livelihoods as thousands have lost their homes and others are on the verge.
