This is the story of Sofia, a woman helped by this project, a mother who was sold in abroad by her own husband.
Sofia is a mother and was living in Eastern Europe with some of her children (at the time) and her husband. The financial situation was really difficult for her family. Her husband allegedly found her a job abroad as a maid. She flew there to help her family.
However, It turned out that her husband had sold her into slavery. All her documents were taken from her. Sofia prayed that God will help her return home.
One day she met a man who bought her and married her. Soon after she gave birth again. After some time he began to physically abuse her.
After some time Sofia decided to take her children back to Eastern Europe. She took the children out of the country and never came back and now takes care of all her children.
Some of the children are unwell and the medicines are very expensive. Sofia is happy to take any job however low paid She is a very caring and loving mother. One of our partners is supporting this family with food and medicines.
Her husband is searching for her and wants to take the children away from her.
She is on her own, but she is a fighter, she wants the best for her children.
We are giving the tools to women in Moldova and Ukraine to build a better future.
Thank you for making our work possible.
