Stay up to date with ShadowMakhanda Education Summit
IkamvaYouth had the privilege of attending the inaugural Makhanda Education Summit in Grahamstown. The goal of this summit was to reflect and celebrate the achievements of the past decade within the education sector in Makhanda, as well as looking at the current challenges and opportunities to collaboratively enhance the sector moving forward. Our team in the Eastern Cape also got the opportunity to highlight our programmes key education initiatives and achievements in Makhanda since our inception.
Amplify After School Symposium
Our Project Manager, Shuvai, along with other representatives from various departments within IkamvaYouth were invited to participate in the Amplify After School Symposium organised by The Learning Trust in Gauteng. Shuvai was part of one of the panel discussion which focused on Youth Employment and Empowerment. The session delved into the Social Employment Fund project and unpacked the challenges and successes over the past few months. It was an inspiring and informative event that connected organisations in the South African after school space. We look forward to more engaging conversations and sessions with the aim of impacting the lives of many more learners in the future.
