Dear Donors,

We are thrilled to share with you the latest progress of our new mricroproject. To make a good start, we chose campus at first, and bring with this "24-Hour Trash Record Challenge," which aims to empower teachers and students to contribute to a sustainable campus environment. Your support is pivotal in making this initiative a success, and we are excited to provide you with an update on our recent activities and the impact of your generous donations.

Background: On October 24th, over 100 university students from a college in Shanxi Province engaged in a participatory research project that holds significant practical importance. Through pre-project training and group guidance, students gained insights into the importance of tracking daily waste and the methods to do so effectively. We encouraged them to explore the significance of self-managed waste through various means, including photography, waste weighing and recording, waste composition analysis, and brand monitoring.

Outcomes: After a day of diligent waste collection and recording, our students collectively generated 23.515 kilograms of campus life waste. The average waste production was 0.201 kilograms for females and 0.217 kilograms for males, with an overall average daily waste production of 0.218 kilograms. The most common types of waste produced by students were plastic packaging, tissues and wet wipes, takeout cups, takeout food containers, and study papers.

Student Feedback and Impact: The feedback from our student participants has been overwhelmingly positive. They have expressed sentiments such as increased environmental awareness, the significance of the project, the importance of protecting the environment, waste sorting, and the positive feelings associated with improving daily habits. Over 70% of the students reported positive changes in their behavior, including enhanced environmental consciousness, better waste sorting practices, reduced takeout and online shopping, resource conservation, and a shift in their attitudes towards waste management.

Future Outlook: Looking ahead, we plan to extend the duration of the project and implement more scientific methods to assess the behavioral changes of our participants. We believe that this project has been a successful endeavor and a step towards fostering a more sustainable campus culture. Conclusion: We are grateful for your continued support and commitment to our project.

Your donations have a direct impact on the lives of our students and the environment. We look forward to sharing more updates with you as we continue on this journey towards sustainability.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for your invaluable contributions.

Best regards,

PickupChina Team
