On the 4th of October two of our Mexico field staff have been on the go, they flew out to Oaxaca State to start with the relief program set out to aid those affected by the Hurricane that hit on the 7th of September.
"Today was a hard day, we saw front line te disaster caused by the continuos Earthquakes in Oaxaca communities. We drove for hours and met many families and saw first hand what their needs were. Tonight we will sleep a little bit better knowing that today we helped 192 people from 45 different families to sleep safer and in better conditions with some necessaties to provide a more confortable and hygenic living." - Alejandro Vazquez
The items we took over today were:
32 tent houses that will provide shelter for up to 10 people
54 industrial PVC rain coats that will protect them from the rain so that they can return to their regular activities and routines.
16 rechargeable and water proof flash lights for electricity breaks and to look after their belongings.
140 soaps, 42 tooth pastes and 60 tooth brushes to support good health practices.
Again we want to thank everyone who has supported this initiative in Mexico and for trusting in The GVI Trust.
