The Micro Credit project has continued to play a pivotal role among women in our community. The project commenced as a Village Saving and Lending Association - VSLA where women saved money out of their little income. The saved money is lent to an individual to start a money generating activity and the person starts paying back on a weekly basis.. This has enabled many women to come out of poverty and being able to support their families.
LACK OF FUNDS
Due to the growing number of women, the current system does not help much and there's need to seek other alternatives to increase on the lending funds. It's our prayer that more donors come up to support our cause.
STORY
In Uganda, many epidemics have struck our country like HIV/AID'S coupled with the recent COVID-19. All these catastrophes let many families with widows and young female girls to look after the families left behind by their husbands or parents. During those times, there were many homes left in hands young females. Starting life was very challenging and some if not many of them resorted to early marriages and other practices that encouraged more spread of HIV AID'S. In our community, a few women came together and started a savings and Lending Association which has now grown into a big group so that if they are assisted with more funds, they will be able to look after their families with necessities like school fees, scholastic materials, uniforms and medical care. Many children now can go to school and are posed to live a better life.
APPEAL
We are appealing to good hearted people to donate to this noble cause that will see many of our community members transformed into good citizens of our community.
Thanking you in advance,
Henry.
