Summary

Previously, we have organized Tailoring Training to 40 young Women and Adolescent Girls. They have successfully completed their training course. Presently, they are working under the contractor and master tailors at meager wages. Hence, they are frequently coming to our organization office and they are requesting Sewing Machines and Toolkit, in order to start their own units, we are unable to provide financial support in this regard. Because of CORUS is a small organization.

Challenge

The beneficiaries are very poor and landless, due to poverty and unemployment have migrated from their own villages to the Kurnool town. In order to get self employment, protect their children family members their old parents from hunger, death and diseases. They have constructed small huts, outside of the main city/villages by using cheap materials such as Kora grass, sedge under cheap wood materials, their main sources and resources it's a daily labour. They are going for daily labour

Solution

Because of poverty they are unable to purchase Sewing Machines and Toolkits etc. Hence, again they became as daily labour domestic servants and working in various type of menial works, leading very measurable and sympathetic life. They have tried their best level to got financial support for local branches of SC, ST and Backward communities of SC, ST, BC Corporations etc. But, Officers are not cooperated and not same forward to provide a loan for establishment of their own units.

Long-Term Impact

After completion of the Tailoring Training Program for Adolescent Girls and Widows it is expected that 40-50 % increase in income is likely to result because of project interventions. Financial: Exact financial benefits and analysis will be done through impact evaluation. Economic: The poor, economic liability would be transformed into economic assets. It can safely be assumed that the program shall enable at least 155 women/ girls (one per household) to be employed/ self employed.
