In Kenya, the AIDS epidemic has created an orphan crisis by wiping out a generation of parents. Orphanages struggle to meet the basic needs of children . It is common for children to be limited to two diaper changes per day, and to be diapered in plastic bags. The consequences of dire poverty are deadly for these children. By providing cloth diapers, these children will have an increased quality of life, as diapers can be changed as needed. All babies deserve to be clean, dry, and healthy.
There are many children living in extreme poverty in orphanages. Orphanages struggle to afford basic needs, and have to make devastatingly difficult choices- including limiting children to two changes per day and using plastic bags as diapers. Your support and generosity will solve the problem of an inadequate supply of diapers by providing re-usable cloth diapers.
We provide cloth diapers to children in poverty, whose caregivers have to choose between food, diapers, and medical care.
As our partner organizations continue to have their diaper needs solved, they are able to save funds and plan for future improvements in their care. This can mean adding educational programs, offering better healthcare, medical procedures to increase adoption opportunity for the orphan, special needs children, improved quality of food (more protein!) - all steps that set these babies up for long term survival and productive members of society.
