Thank you for helping us increase college and career access for young adults! LA Conservation Corps is committed to promoting career pathways in the environnmental sector including living wage employment opportunities This project directly supports career counseling and career exploration activities for high school graduates entering college or apprenticeship programs for the first time. Participants will receive support with career exploration and assistance with enrolling in college or apprenticeship programs.

Rene Ola* and Kevin Hernandez* recently graduated from the LA Corps Transition and Brownfields training programs where they received several environmental remediation certifications. Both expressed a deep interest in a pre-apprenticeship construction program before starting college in Fall 2014. They were accepted for a 10 week program with WE Build, a Los Angeles Unified School district construction program. Rene* (featured on the left) will attend Los Angeles Trade Tech College to join the Electrician program. Kevin* (featured on the right) will attend Santa Monica College to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies and green construction. Both received a construction toolkit to use during the pre-apprenticeship program. Thank you for helping us increase college and career access for corpsmembers!

We hope you continue to support the LA Conservation Corps. Like us on LA Corps facebook and share one of our Global Giving projects with your friends and family Keep LA Youth Employed and In School

With deep appreciation,

Roxana Aguilar
