COVID-19 Update

By Madison Sweitzer | Outreach Coordinator

Thank you so much to everyone that has donated to our COVID-19 Emergency funding project. We appreciate your generosity during these uncertain times.

Although this fundraising initiative has closed, we are still remaining active in our COVID-19 relief efforts. Our latest work has been focused on spreading information within the most rural communities. Many of these communities do not speak Spanish and don't have reliable television or internet access, which means that it can be very challenging to receive updates regarding the pandemic. We have been working on recording audio messages in Indigenous languages to share, as well as providing funding for phone minutes so that community members can receive these updates.

We are also continuing with our family garden project, which provides a sustainable, nutritious, and reliable food source for families. Family gardens are also economically viable in a time when other sources of income may not be available.

Lastly, we have launched a COVID-19 landing page on our website that will continue to host all of our COVID-19-related updates. Please refer to the link below for our latest updates regarding Pixan's mask production and sales, migration trends, and our relief projects.

Thank you again for your continued support!

Best,

Highland Support Project
