We have 91 children enrolled at PEI School. Together with their families, teachers and staff, we are a safe place for young children to learn, play, eat properly and be part of a loving community of approx. 515 people. Your donation is considered an act of empathy as many families will get support through this difficult time and with your help, the future will bring hope for them as the school and teachers will be ready to welcome all of their students back in early January 2021.
We want to continue improving the living conditions of our community by providing children a good quality education and youth job training for future advancement nevertheless, our project is currently threatened by the current crisis. Due to the mandatory lockdown until the end of this year, our school is closed and all our students, families and teachers who are unemployed at the moment, are facing complex challenges at covering basic necessities such as sanitary and nutritional needs.
Your generosity will allow us to act quickly in this uncertain time, by bringing immediate relief to our extended school community by tackling their basic needs for the next month. With your help we can: ensure that nutritious meals continue to reach our 91 students and their families at home; support our school staff to meet their basic needs; maintain the school minimum operation to keep our cherished project alive when we can welcome our children again.
The consequences of staying afloat are tangible in the near future. Along with our volunteers, you and the people of the Gbawe community, we will continue to work towards the realization of the "Education Center for Disadvantaged Families Ghana". Our vision is to create an educational and community center for disadvantaged children and their families providing a space that leads the way out of poverty, increases the literacy rate, and encourages civic engagement by our own community members.
