The rural community of Apotribu is an hour outside of Itu by dirt roads. A small community center was built to facilitate medical and other services to area residents, but the project was never completed. The medical task force to Itu's rural comunities sought the help of CURA and Crescimento Limpo to finish the construction of this community center so that the population of Apotribu can receive the medical accompaniment that it's four thousand residents require.
Residents of the distant and rural community of Apotribu (within the municipality of Itu, Sao Paulo) do not receive needed medical attention and public services due to them because the construction of the community center that should house these services was never completed.
This project will complete the construction of the Apotribu Community Center, allowing the medical task force designated to serve Itu's rural populations to extend its services to the communities 4,000 residents.
Without access to routine medical checkups and care, simple and avoidable health problems develop into unnesesary crisis. Residents experience an increase in diabetes, heart problems and develop disabilities due to the lack of basic care at the onset issues. With the community center completed and health professionals visiting the area, we can change this reality and promote longer, healthier lives for area residents.
