Cassidy and her daughter Emma are living in a shelter in the USA after we helped them flee abuse in Thailand after Cassidy's husband strangled her and threw Emma into the bedroom wall. They are hoping to be able to move into a small one bedroom apartment Cassidy found in a safe neighborhood. The rent is $500 plus a $250 deposit. A local church has offered to provide Cassidy and Emma with basic household supplies. We need $750 to get Cassidy & Emma into a home, hopefully before the holidays.
American women and their children who escape domestic violence in foreign countries and return home are most often homeless. They can temporarily live in shelters but a typical shelter stay is 30 days. Not all states in the USA have grants to enable victims to move into their own apartment. With this project, we will ensure Cassidy and Emma have a safe and happy home soon.
Cassidy & Emma will be able to rebuild their lives, safe at home in the USA in their own apartment.
Each year we provide battered American women and children with information and services necessary to enable them to live their lives without violence. Since 2001 we have helped over 3000 women plus their children free themselves from abuse.
