We're growing! With the addition of new children and new therapists, our bus is overflowing! We need your help! We need to buy a small, used car to transport our staff to The JOY Home.
We are currently providing weekly physical therapy, life skills training, attachment and play therapy to 18 orphans with special needs. We have found a speech therapist and would like to add that as a help to our children (15 of the 18 are speech-delayed or non-verbal); however, we are out of room on the bus. With the addition of the speech therapist, we could also help 6 more children, taking our total from 18 to 24 children. We need additional seats to transport children and staff.
When this project is fully-funded, we will be able to purchase a small, used car to transport therapists to The JOY Home.
Research shows the shocking effects on children who have not had the ability to form secure attachments. Unfortunately, children from hard places struggle to build meaningful relationships, due to a lack of trust and unresolved trauma. We seek to combat those statistics and meet the child's emotional and physical needs. When these children are seen, heard, and loved, they will be able to become well-rounded adults - giving them the ability to have meaningful relationships and bright futures.
