Lighthouse of Hope MK's overarching mission is to bring hope and quality of life to children without parents and those who come from trauma backgrounds in North Macedonia. There are several ways we do this. The primary means of providing this hope is through the opening and running of The JOY Home, a day center for orphans who have special needs. The JOY Home is open three days a week and provides physical therapy, speech therapy, play and attachment, and life skills training for 15+ children each week. Our caregivers and therapists are trained in TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Interventions) and Gentle Teaching models and seek to build healthy attachment and healing relationships with the children. Everything we do is under the umbrella of play. Another way we provide hope to families in North Macedonia is through the support of foster and adoptive families - answering questions and providing resources and training.
