Build a Safe Playground for Batey Libertad Kids

Thanks to everyone who donated through GlobalGiving and the generous support of the All People Be Happy Foundation, we secured the funding needed to open our new children’s playground in Batey Libertad!

On August 19, we celebrated its inauguration with an afternoon full of laughter, music, and cake. Children, families, community members, and local guests came together to mark this milestone: a new space where children can play, build friendships, and enjoy being children.

We were also joined by youth volunteers from Nido de Vida in Ecuador, a partner organization of All People Be Happy. Their participation brought added energy to a celebration rooted in community and collaboration. During the inauguration, we had the pleasure of hearing from Bibi Al-Ebrahim, Deputy Director of All People Be Happy, whose support played an important role in making the playground possible.

The playground is part of Yspaniola’s preschool program, which gives children opportunities to read, write, learn about the environment and take action in their own community. This new space connects that learning with something children can experience every day: the value of caring for the places where they gather, play, and grow.
