At the end of the year we try to bring joy and hope to the children at Tamar Center and also to the women in the bars. We want to raise funds for Christmas Gifts for the 18 children that are currently staying with their mothers at Tamar Center and on the 18th and 19th of December we are planning to distribute 1000 Christmas Gift Bags to the women working in the sex industry in Pattaya. In the last years the women were amazed when we showed up with gifts for them and we want to bless them again!
There are thousands of women working in the sex industry in Pattaya. Currently, many of them are struggling. There are much more women in Pattaya than Tourists right now and the competition between the women is high. There is also a lot of pressure on the women to make money for their families and to help with the rising costs in the country side. We hope to bring them some joy and hope during this Christmas season.
The gift bags that we distribute will be filled with gifts like decorated cookies, some small jewelry, some beauty products and vouchers for free hair treatment in our Hair Salon as well as information about our vocational training program and options where the women can go, if they want help or leave the sex industry. The gifts for the children that are with their mothers at Tamar Center will bring joy to them, so that they can play with their Moms during the Christmas break.
Our goal for the women is to leave Pattaya, maybe return to their families and to have a normal life outside of the sex industry. We will train the women job skills and help them to find employment or help them to start their own small business so that they can provide for themselves and their children. Also, when they return to their families, they will help to prevent other young girls and boys to start a work in the sex industry.
