Dear project supporters,
We appreciate your support that is helping provide nutritious school meals for children living in a slum in Lagos, Nigeria. Their parents cannot afford to feed them a balanced diet and so they are malnourished. They fend for themselves and often quit school to join their parents in seeking food and ways to survive. Dreams from the Slum is a unique educational center designed to properly meet the needs of children living in the slum. Thanks to your generosity the educational center was able to purchase seven cartons of noodles, two cartons of juice and four large cans of tomatoes. The generous donation provided lunch for the kids for two weeks. The children were so happy because noodles are their favorite meal and they kept chanting thank you.
Dreams from the Slum Educational Centre's, daily feeding plan for children living in the slum is not just a necessity but is also an incentive for children to remain in school and learn. Hunger and malnourishment affect the cognitive abilities of children who find it difficult to focus or concentrate. By eliminating one of the hindrances to staying in school we make a huge difference in their lives. Children are happier to come to school because they have access to balanced meals that help them grow well and perform well intellectually.
Your continued support is appreciated to help more children receive the nutritious meals they need. Healthy meals provide children with the opportunity to finish their education - a platform for other progress in life.
With great appreciation,
Amy and The Develop Africa Team
