Amaya Is Home Safe With Her Grandma Because Of You!

By Paula Lucas | Founder & Executive Director

Amaya turned 18 in March. We were able to get a new American passport for her without her mother or stepfather knowing. She fled back to the USA earlier this month and is safe, happy and secure with her grandmother.

Amaya plans to go to the local community college in the fall. Meanwhile she is getting counseling. She feels so bad for leaving her mother but she had to get away from the sex abuse from her stepfather. She sent this message to us:

Thank you I don't know I would have done if you hadn't helped me. I didn't want to live in the street in Turkey. It is too dangerous. Sometimes I just wanted to kill myself. I am so happy with Grandma. She has a two dogs and three cats. They sleep with me and it makes me happy."

Thank you so much for helping Amaya! The AODVC Team
