Thanks to your donations to our two microprojects, the Afghan Institute of Learning has been able to purchase 12 new sewing machines for use in three of it’s Learning Centers. Two of the Learning Centers are in rural areas. One of the centers is in an urban area, and primarily serves internally displaced people and poor women. All three of these centers have been supported by AIL for a number of years, and all three are well respected in their community for being safe places for women to gather and learn.
As you can see in the pictures, the sewing machines AIL was able to purchase each came with their own desk. This is quite an upgrade for the students, who had become accustomed to using the sewing machines on tables, or on the floor.
Thank you again for your donations. Being able to replace the broken sewing machines means that AIL will be able to continue teaching the women in these centers a valuable skill which allows them to earn an income, and help support their family. Without your help, these new sewing machines would not have been possible. Thank you.
