This project will buy an automatic 4 wheel drive van to be used to deliver children to School and back to the Orphanage, field visits, as well as pick volunteers from airport. This project needs a top up of $2,500 to buy a van by January 2017. Savings in vehicle hire costs will be significant. The Mountains of Hope is a registered entity, the assets of the ministry are managed by the Ministry itself.
Access to high quality education and medical care services have been compromised as children cannot access immediate emergency health care due to lack of transport. There is an increase in vehicle hire costs while taking children to school and back, taking them for treatment, and visiting the communities we serve.
The van will facilitate day to day activities such as dropping kids to school and back, offer emergency care for the sick kids, facilitate transport to the field, bank deposits and mail pickups, therefore reducing need for use of hired vehicles during work hours. The van will promote flexibility and visibility in communities and regions
The existing capital budget supports the servicing and mechanical repairs of the vehicle. The available fleet management policy will ensure the vehicle is kept safe and secure hence serving for along time. The driver is to provide weekly and monthly reports on the status of the vehicle. Apart from emergency situations, the vehicle will be for official use only.
