As we all know Lissa is constantly rescuing mangy dogs in desperate need off the streets of Nassau and most of them find amazing homes. Inevitably, there are really difficult cases that come along of dogs that are not adoptable. Lissa is a dog angel and has so much knowledge and expertise dealing with the most difficult of cases.
Tito is a very special guy but not without challenges and as a result, Lissa knows she can't rehome him as it would not be fair to the new owner. Lissa has suffered multiple bites, not because Tito is mean, but because Tito is in pain. Due to birth defects and lack of nutrition as a puppy Tito has many issues with how the bones of his hind legs are formed. He has severe curvature of the bones of his hips and his hindlegs, all the way down to his toes!
Unfortunately, these bones will NEVER change their shape, and this has resulted in the loss of the use of one of his legs and Tito not being able to walk properly, experiencing great discomfort! The ONLY way that these deformities can be corrected is with very complex and expensive orthopedic surgery. It will require not only one but quite a few surgeries done over the period of over a year!
As you can well imagine this will be quite costly but well worth it for such a vibrant and dynamic boy who has such a big heart and zest for life. Lissa works tirelessly for the betterment of the animals in The Bahamas so let's show our love and appreciation for all she does for SO many by helping her out with this special guy, Tito.
