Children  Haiti Project #24257

A safe home for Nathaelle

A microproject by International Disaster Volunteers (IDV) Vetted since 2009 Project of the Month Site Visit Verified

This project will provide a year of safe housing for Nathaelle. Nathaelle was abandoned at birth and has spent her life living at the HTDC orphanage. Despite the challenges she's faced Nathaelle dreams of becoming a nurse, and she always helps take care of the younger kids. But without the orphanage to continue to keep her safe, Nathaelle would be forced to fend for herself on the streets.

As an orphan, Nathaelle is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There isn't an effective nationwide child protection service operating in Haiti to provide for her basic needs. This means that, without your help, Nathaelle would be homeless, leaving her vulnerable to exploitation and destined to a life of suffering and poverty.

By donating today, you'll help us provide the home Nathaelle needs to stay safe and to grow up with a fighting chance. You'll also help provide caregivers to look after Nathaelle and also ensure that she has access to water and electricity.

Long-Term Impact

A safe home and care are essential for every child. By providing these for Nathaelle, you're giving her the foundations she needs to build a bright future.
