Back in July, you helped raise over $10,000 for the 2nd Capuchin Area at Jacj Cuisi - thank you! Brendon Berg named the area "ParaTi" and it is currently under construction.
In recent weeks, the JC team has been immersed in extinguishing the fires that have occurred in the vicinity of the sanctuary, some of them potentially harmful due to their proximity. Therefore, it became an absolute priority to fight the fires, leaving the construction on hold until the situation calms down.
Thus, to date the following has been built:
- kitchen/pantry enclosure: cemented floor + metal and mesh structure
- cementing of all individual cages
- water outlet connection of each cage + pantry (i.e. dirty water drain).
There is still a lot left to complete: build all the cages (metal structure + mesh + roof), water connection, all the exterior elements (houses, shelters, platforms), runners, etc. So it is estimated that there are a few months until completion.
As for expenses, approximately $5,400 has been spent so far, mainly on materials (cement, iron, sand, nails, bricks, corrugated iron, paint, materials for the water outlet connection, etc.) and construction salaries. The funding raised from this page was combined with a £1,500 grant from the Animal Defence Trust and a £2,732 grant from Animal Friends Pet Insurance. We'll still need to raise approximately $6,860 to complete the area. We are applying for more grants, but your donations are always welcome as well!

En julio, ayudaste a recaudar más de $10,000 para la 2da Área de Capuchinos en Jacj Cuisi. ¡Gracias! Brendon Berg nombró el área "ParaTi" y actualmente está en construcción.
En las últimas semanas, el equipo de JC ha estado inmerso en la extinción de los incendios ocurridos en las inmediaciones del santuario, algunos de ellos potencialmente dañinos por su proximidad. Por lo que se ha declarado de absoluta prioridad ir a sofocarlos, dejando la construcción un poco aparcada hasta que se calme la situación.
Así, hasta la fecha se ha construido lo siguiente:
- cocina/oficina del área: cementado del suelo + estructura de metal y malla
- cementado de todas las jaulas individuales
- conexión de salida de agua de cada jaula + oficina (es decir, desagüe de aguas sucias)
Aún queda mucho por completar: construir todas las jaulas (estructura metálica + malla + techo), conexión de agua, todos los elementos exteriores (casitas, shelters, plataformas), runners, etc. Por lo que se calcula que aún quedan algunos meses hasta su finalización.
En cuanto a gastos, hasta el momento se han gastado aproximadamente $5,400, principalmente en materiales (cemento, hierro, arena, clavos, ladrillos, calamina, pintura, materiales para la conexión de salida de agua, etc.) y salarios de construcción. Los fondos recaudados en esta página se combinaron con una subvención de £1,500 de Animal Defense Trust y una subvención de £2,732 de Animal Friends Pet Insurance.
