The fifty Children attending the Sunshine Day-care and Pre-school are provided one nutritious meal a day at the Centre. Supporting the whole family currently is necessary during these times. Providing the whole family with a basket of essential foods will go a long way to help them meet their financial difficulties.
The Sunshine Charity will reach out to the communities we serve as we did during the lockdown to provide essential groceries and dry rations to vulnerable communities living in remote areas in the Trincomalee district, eastern province of Sri Lanka. Providing the families with the necessary food items and other essentials will go a long way to reduce the financial burdens faced due to the ongoing economic crisis.
The organization purchased a block of land and built a permanent day care and preschool to achieve a long-term impact on the community. It has been fifteen years since the centre was established and today, it is considered as one of the safest spaces to learn, create and grow. With their greatest needs provided free of charge. the children can regain their childhood and be well equipped to transfer to the local primary school.
