Sudip is 15 and he's a survivor of two Nepal earthquakes. Sudip lives with his family in Maneshwara VDC in Sindhupalchok district. Sudip's school was devastated in the first earthquake and Sudip and his classmates are now struggling to learn in a cold, uncomfortable temporary classroom. Sudip wants to be a business man when he's older but without a quality education these dreams will be lost. With your help, we'll provide Sudip with a permanent classroom and give him back the future he deserves.
in 2015 Nepal was devastated by two earthquakes in less than three weeks. Over 36,000 classrooms were destroyed or heavily damaged and more than 1 million children, including Sudip, are now learning in terrible conditions. This is causing further harm to Sudip by denying him a quality education. This threatens his future by locking him into a cycle of poverty.
Your donations will be used to provide a permanent classroom for Sudip and two of his classmates. Specifically this project will help build one permanent classroom at the Bhadrakali Higher Secondary School in Maneshwara. Around 36 kids will use this classroom and your donations will fund one twelfth of the total classroom costs.
Your donations will give Sudip back his education and help him escape poverty when he's older. Maneshwara is over three hours from Kathmandu and its more rural location means that kids like Sudip, are poorer and more neglected, than those in the capital. By allowing us to provide a permanent classroom for Sudip, you'll ensure he not only recovers from the earthquakes, but also builds a stronger future in the long-term.
