Priyam Global Initiative Is Committed To Learning From Feedback

The leadership of the Priyam Global Initiative was feeling burnt out. They needed something or someone to help them feel re-energized and ready to take on their mission. They didn’t expect it to be a stranger.

LISTEN

The feeling of burn out was encroaching the Priyam Global Initiative team. Though the staff was committed to the organization’s mission—to end poverty for children with disabilities by supporting, equipping, and investing in their mothers—they needed to be rejuvenated. The organization hosted a representative from GlobalGiving’s Field Program, Harshitha Murali, and things took a turn for the better. Harshitha shared feedback with the team on how to get the most from the GlobalGiving community and platform.

ACT

After listening to feedback from Harshitha, the Priyam Global Initiative team explored the tools in GlobalGiving’s GG Rewards, and they decided to try using the Problem Definition Worksheet to help reexamine their work.

LEARN

The Problem Definition tool allowed the team to look at their challenges differently. It was just what they needed to ward off burn out and get new ideas flowing. “For the first time in months, I felt a spark of renewed energy, as it suddenly became clear in a fresh way that what we were really trying to solve was a woman’s rights issue—these mothers cannot access their rights, and as a result, their children do not have the childhood they deserve,” explained the Priyam Global team.

REPEAT

The Priyam Global team isn’t stopping with the Problem Definition Worksheet; they are taking full advantage of the tools offered by GlobalGiving in order to keep their staff’s motivation high and their mission clear.

The Priyam Global team weren’t the only ones inspired by GlobalGiving’s site visit. Harshita, who visited the Priyam Global Initiative with GlobalGiving’s Field Program shared this about the organization:

“Priyam Global reminds you of the power of the domino-effect—one mother, one child, one community—and what a difference it can make.”
