What A Little TLC Can Do This GivingTuesday

Give abandoned dogs the love and attention they deserve before finding their forever homes.

Clarke was a big, matted ball of fur when the team at the East Mississippi Animal Rescue found him abandoned in a rural county that didn’t have a local rescue organization. When no one came forward to claim the neglected pup, the team at the East Mississippi Animal Rescue knew what to do.

After taking Clarke into their care, they quickly took note of his bright personality and joy at being given the attention and love he deserved.

The first item on their agenda: a good scrub and trim to relieve him of the irritation, pain, and sores caused by matted hair. Afterward, he was off to the veterinarian for a dental cleaning.

The team then ordered a heartworm test to make sure he was doing as well on the inside as he was looking on the outside. Unfortunately, Clarke tested positive for heartworms. But with the support of donors like you, Clarke was able to get treatment from the East Mississippi Animal Rescue for roughly $300. Untreated heartworm disease progresses and damages dogs’ heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys, eventually causing death.

For just $25, the East Mississippi Animal Rescue can order a heartworm test for more dogs like Clarke that come into their care. This allows animals like Clarke to live long and healthy lives with their new forever families.

This GivingTuesday, GlobalGiving is giving away $1M to nonprofits from midnight to 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 30. The more you give, the more they get!

That means your gift toward heartworm tests, or something else of your choice on GlobalGiving, will be boosted, getting even more resources to the causes you care about.

Help GlobalGiving give away $1 million on GivingTuesday! Give to help animals like Clarke and get your donation boosted—Nov. 30 only*
