When women and girls are given the resources needed to lead and thrive, the effects reach far beyond any single person or place. Entire communities become more resilient, and futures begin to forever shift.

That belief is what brings supporters like you to this work—and it’s what powered a global wave of locally-led action across our network in 2025.

Across the GlobalGiving community, support for women, girls, and gender justice helped fuel:

• More than 1,700 grassroots projects
• Over 1,100 organizations 
• Work spanning 120 countries 

These numbers represent more than scale. They reflect women starting businesses, girls staying in school, and community leaders creating solutions rooted in lived experience.

Meet Our 2025 Grant Recipients

Here is a glimpse into the interconnected, expansive work of ten exceptional, locally-led nonprofits supporting women and girls:

• Women Welfare Foundation (Nepal) works alongside women and girls in their communities, offering mental health support to women impacted by war supporting girls affected by early marriage, and providing climate justice education.
• Women Inspiration Development Center (Nigeria) Provides refuge for survivors of violence while advancing their economic and physical health to support in the breaking of deeply-rooted cycles of poverty and abuse.
• Likhaan Center for Women's Health Inc. (Philippines) Delivers integrated sexual and reproductive healthcare through community-based clinics while also organizing for policy change in the country's poorest communities.
• Perkumpulan Keluarga Berencana Indonesia Daerah Bali (Indonesia) Empowers communities toward responsible family planning while building inclusive youth movements and influencing policymakers to protect sexual and reproductive health rights.
• Fondo Semillas (Mexico) Mobilizes feminist funding to grassroots women's organizations tackling gender-based violence, economic exclusion, and barriers to reproductive rights through locally-driven solutions.
• LEARN AFGHAN INC (Afghanistan) Provides education and skills-based training to women in remote communities, preserving their agency and creating pathways for future participation despite systematic oppression under Taliban rule.
• Kayan - Feminist Organization (Israel) is building a nationwide Arab women's movement to promote social, economic, and civil rights for women facing dual discrimination based on gender and ethnicity.
• Foundation for Advancement of Haitian Midwives, Inc (FAHM) (Haiti) supports midwives as public health leaders and strengthens local midwifery education to improve maternal and neonatal health in communities where formal healthcare systems have collapsed.
• Adolescent Health Champions, Inc.(India) Cultivates youth-led peer education to address sexual and reproductive health taboos while building leadership skills that create multiplier effects across communities.
• MAIA (Guatemala) builds educational and leadership opportunities for Indigenous women to challenge discriminatory norms and advocate for systemic change.

Peering Into 2026

As we look toward 2026, these organizations remind us what local leadership makes possible when it’s trusted and resourced.  Each grant supports work already underway—women expanding economic options, girls staying in school, and communities responding to conflict, climate pressure, and inequality with solutions rooted in lived experience.
