The Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company

The Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company seeks to explore the original theatrical practices of the acting companies of Shakespeare's time; to provide high quality productions of works by Shakespeare and his contemporaries to regional theatre audiences; to provide local actors, directors, and stage managers the opportunity to work with these wonderful scripts and to receive training in an original practice approach to Shakespeare's plays; and to maintain an organizational philosophy in which theatre practitioners participate in the administration of the company on a regular basis.
Shakespeare in an Elizabethan Playhouse

The Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company performs Shakespeare's works in a replica Elizabethan theatre, the Rose, at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Ticket revenue from these performances benefits Blue Lake Public Radio, and the performances are the public's only opportunity to see live plays in this beautiful space. Support these performances and help both our actors and our audiences experience Shakespeare's plays coming to life in a space that recreates the theatres for which Shakespeare wrote.
Bring Live Shakespeare to High School Students

Our project will bring professional actors as artists in residence to Kelloggsville High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to rehearse and perform Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors alongside a cast of high school actors. The professional actors will act as mentors to the students. Performances of the play will reach the school's entire student body, and the resident actors will also conduct classroom workshops in the school's English classes. project reportread updates from the field
