Programs

International Disaster Response: EMPACT Northwest is a rapid response team designed to put boots on the ground within 72 hours following major disasters. EMPACT Rescue Teams provide advanced field care, technical rescue and emergency management support for the critical first several weeks after a disaster, until larger organizations can provide more stable, long lasting services. EMPACT Northwest is the only non-profit USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) team in the United States. EMPACT Medical Missions: EMPACT Northwest was originally founded as a medical disaster relief team and has served in Haiti, Sierra Leone and Pakistan. We also designed and delivered Haiti's first EMT course to provide medical first responder education following the devastating 2010 earthquake. EMPACT Rescue Canine Program: In August 2015, four search canines and their handler partners were added to our Rescue Team. The dogs play a vital role in quickly locating survivors of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes or floods. We place a high priority on assisting under served populations and areas that are socioeconomically depressed. From rural communities in the US to rural communities in Haiti, we will respond when called upon.
