ACEI's main goals are: Goal 1: Provide access to affordable secondary education to students in Solola, Guatemala. Goal 2: Increase the average number of years students attend school by providing financial scholarships for students in need. Goal 3: Provide a rich, multicultural education through the employment of both local Guatemalan teachers and international education consultants. Our hope is to expand access to education in Solola through after school and summer academic programs in addition to our flagship school, Panajachel Colegio Internacional (PCI). ACEI believes in fostering community activism through project and inquiry based learning models. Students actively engage in the history, culture, and community in the Lake Atitlan region in order to safe-guard our natural environment, to support and raise the voices of marginalized communities, and to bring together a culturally diverse community for the common good and prosperity of the Lake Atitlan region and the department of Solola. ACEI believes that access to quality educational programs, bi/tri-lingual education, and community involvement are the cornerstones of progress.
