Help Save A World Heritage Site

Calicanto's mission is to protect the human and architectural heritage of a UNESCO World Heritage site, Casco Viejo. It is the oldest Spanish settlement on the Pacific and one of the world's most architecturally diverse places. The site is currently threatened by a 1970s-style coastal highway around the district, which would destroy its character and cause it to be de-listed by UNESCO. By donating, you will help raise awareness for the threats posed to this important cultural monument. project reportread updates from the field

Help Laura With Her New Business

This microproject is a second step for Laura, who graduated from our program "Fight Poverty: Educate Women in Panama" and who lived in poverty and violence her whole life. During her training, we empowered her and gave her the tools to further her socioeconomic position in life. Now, she has the opportunity to set up a food business but needs donations to put theses skills to use. It is our responsibility to prove to these women that the promises of a good future that we make do come true! project reportread updates from the field
Help 25 Year-Old Domaira Finish Elementary School

Domaira is a 25 year-old CAPTA graduate who only reached 3rd grade. Her family could not afford to send her to school and at the age of 12 she had already started working. Today, Domaira has 3 children and her only training has been with CAPTA; she works as a housekeeper and has expressed her wish to go to school. Helping her get through elementary would help improve her reading and writing abilities so that she can participate in trainings offered at the hotel and aspire to other positions. project reportread updates from the field
