Thank you for helping make our spring camps a huge success! 800 children came, rode horses, conquered our climbing wall, made lifelong friends and much more!
The laughter and singing of 800 campers rocked Barretstown this spring! Our spring camps are finished for another year, but we have the joyful memories, and plenty of photos of giggling campers to remind us of the amazing time had by campers, their families, and our volunteers. None of this would have happened without you!
“I haven’t seen Jack smiling or enjoying himself and chattingin a long time. He was always a little shy, and lost all his confidence over the last year. He struggled a little to get into the group sessions in camp but once he got into it, it did him a world of good.”Rachel, Camper Mum, Family Spring Camp 2016
I look forward to updating on your summer camps & the progress of our new dining hall which is currently under construction in my next report.
Wishing you well,

Your help is making a difference

Every year we strive to increase our camper numbers to reduce our waiting lists and meet the needs of the increasing number of children in Ireland with cancer and serious illness.
In 2015 we welcomed over 2,700 campers here to Barretstown and brought the magic of camp to over 2,500 campers in hospitals, schools and communities around Ireland through our Outreach Programmes. That’s over 5,200 campers in 2015, an increase of over 500 on 2014.
In 2016 our ambitious plans continue. We set a target to companies who give via Global Giving to raise $50,000 which will cover the costs for a weekend family camp. We are slowly getting there and are so grateful to all the employees so far that have contributed.
In the words of Dr. Jane Pears, Consultant Paediatric Oncologist, Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin:
"A stay in Barretstown offers something that we can never achieve in hospital- it gives our patients their childhood back and completes the healing process".
